Open and explore
Tap Open tin, flip the food, then try a press or a slice. Take as long as you like.
A quick guide to the controls
The buttons on screen guide you through each step.
- On a phone, hold the arrow buttons to walk and drag to look around. On a computer, use W, A, S, D to walk, E to sit or stand, and P for the pantry.
- Tap or click Open tin and Flip once. Each action finishes on its own.
- Hold Press to keep pressing, then release to lift. On a phone, you can also swipe down or up over the food to lower or raise your hand.
- Open Room & sound for Overall volume and individual sound levels. Mute all silences the game; Unmute restores sound.

Is Tin Rations free?
Tin Rations is a free browser game in active development. Tips are entirely optional and do not unlock access.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Just open Play free in your browser on a phone, tablet, or computer.
Do I need an account?
No account is required. Newsletter signup and tips are optional.
What devices are supported?
Play on your phone, tablet, or computer. Phones have touch controls; computers use a keyboard and mouse. Performance varies by device. If the game feels slow, try a lower graphics setting.
Why does loading take a moment?
Detailed foods and environments load as needed. First loading can take a while, depending on your connection and device.
Can I adjust the sound?
The Room & sound panel has Overall volume, Fireplace, Rain & thunder, Touch sounds, and Mute all. This website never autoplays audio.
How can I support development?
Leave an optional $1, $2, or $5 tip. Every tip helps with new foods and improvements. The game stays free.
Where can I report a problem?

Can I play right now?
Yes. Choose Play free to try the current browser prototype. It is still in development, and some interactions may be incomplete or behave unexpectedly.
